The weak in courage is strong in cunning

The weak obviously lack courage and what they lose by way of courage, they try to gain through cunning. In fact, none wants to remain a loser, to be dubbed as a lesser or an inferior person. If the weak person does not find himself or herself in a position to abuse you in your very face, he will, quite soon, develop the habit of backbiting. In any case, he is not going to spare you for the simple reason that you did not spare him. Cunning is a kind of defence mechanism and a man must defend himself. The weak man will like to stab you in the back as he is incapable of a frontal attack upon you. If a weak person cannot face you fairly and squarely and being weak, obviously, he cannot, he will surely like to hit you below the belt. Hit he must as it is the immediate demand of his irrepressible ego. The weak man’s ego finds an expression and a fulfilment through cunning. It so seems that he survives through cunning. Cunning may be regarded as his weapon or tool. Courage may be physical or even moral; cunning is immoral, conceived in the head. The instinct of self-preservation is as much strong in a weak person as in any other person.
